ASP and ERP outsourcing must go together. This means it can come in handy for both the company and the Vendor. It acts as a substitute for the vendor's service though not at all times and circumstances. Infact that is not the core function of ASP. Application service provider and enterprise resource planning outsourcing are not two sides of the same coin. ASP is primarily meant to increase the effectiveness of business applications by speeding up the network and facilitating communications in a faster and efficient manner.

Matching ASP service provider and the outsource service provider

The company that choose to go for outsourcing services needs to considers these two arms at an equal distance. They must enjoy a certain level of comfort zone. It so happens that many a times that the facilities offered by the Application service provider and the service offered by the vendor providing outsourcing services don't sink on the same level. Such a combination may rarely work.

On the other hand if their services do match but are not complacent with the nature of business carried on by the company availing ERP services then the chances of coordination are again difficult. It is not to be dismissed that the rarest of rarest cases do click without any of the above mentioned combination. They are only exceptions and need not be taken for purposes of substantiating.

Some of the factors that can be taken to measure account this factor include the nature of business and volume of operations handled by the company and provided by the Application Service provider and the firm providing outsourcing services. If all of them cater to the same business it is a prospective combination.

Negotiations between the ASP vendor and outsource service provider

There are lots of practical difficulties faced by the company in obtaining the above mentioned competition. The company can afford to make some adjustments. Why lose top players in the respective industry for the sake of such combination? They always have the expertise to overcome the limitations. There is another important factor involved in this connection. These adjustments should not be beyond a negligible level and purely dependent on the circumstances of the case.

Companies have to keep in mind the fact that these vendors can definitely bring better solutions than if they are done at their own initiative. They must not sacrifice the demands of one person to satisfy the other. They should therefore realize the importance of establishing a cordial relation between the two and in turn successfully running an application that helps everyone. Application Service Provider and ERP outsourcing must be given equal weightage.
