What are the features of j2ee platforms? How are they relevant to the functioning of ERP?

Dot net has been the numero uno choice of ERP users. This does not necessarily stop companies from choosing J2ee platforms.
There are still large amounts of loyal Customers for j2ee.They have their own reasons and convenience in choosing j2ee.

Some of the features of J2ee platforms in relation to ERP applications are as follows

Internet features
The biggest disadvantage of any enterprise application will be felt when it does not have access to the internet. J2ee not only integrates them with internet but makes them work at a faster pace with the help of deplorable and non deplorable packages. These two packages can be selected and used based on the requirements.
Speed
This is a lucrative feature for industries that are (especially) facing constant deadlines. Even though there can be no compromise on quality the delivery time becomes very important in the modern business scenario when an order is lost for not having shipped or received at the correct time.

The objective of implementing ERP is also to gain speed. When ERP is set to work in the correct direction the purpose is seldom met because of the failure on the part of platforms. Since j2ee is bound to make things work at a greater speed they could be of great use especially to manufacturing industries whose primary objective in implementing ERP is to speed up the process.
Plenty of packages
J2ee platforms offer a plenty of packages. The erp vendor is at liberty to choose his own packages. If the number of packages are less the ERP vendor will have to choose one for the heck of it without confirming if it adheres to the level of satisfaction. In that case the work of ERP applications will not give the required results especially if the packages don't match with the service of the application. Since J2ee comes with many packages the vendor can choose the one relevant to his function. However this is not the only reason for choosing j2ee platforms.
Communication facilities
The networking facilities offered by J2ee are highly encouraging. As said in the earlier part of the article they have an established connectivity with the internet. In addition it facilitates connectivity with many devices. This will be helpful for any application whether they are controlled by ERP or not. At the same time it does not discourage the traditional network facilities. Rather it helps to improve them.
Satisfies vendors
J2ee still remains to be a favorite choice of the ERP vendors. It helps them to build the framework required for setting up ERP or related applications in an organization. Often vendors have no clue on designing ERP applications irrespective of their experience and the success rate of implementation and results.

This is a handicap not only for the small players but also to the bigwigs. The vendors had a difficult time in designing ERP applications more so for new ventures or sectors that they had not earlier tried.J2ee platform helped the companies to overcome these troubles by doing the homework of the ERP vendors

Conclusion

Companies that are unmindful of costs still go for j2ee if they are demanding. This applies not only for ERP applications but also for others. These are some of the reasons for preferring j2ee platforms.
