Enterprise Resource Planning To Increase
A recent study of Enterprise Resource Planning or ERP by AMR Research shows that in 2007 ERP budgets will have an estimated growth of 13.7 percent. In 2007 companies are expected to pay more than ten million towards activities related to ERP. This spending increase is expected to be driven by new customers, consolidation projects, add-on applications and additional users. The ERP market has also been cushioned by the fact that it has spread to such vertical industries beyond the basic manufacturing. As companies expand their product functionality through internal growth and acquisition they are able to gain a larger portion of application spending. Most markets not only have the money available for ERP systems but they also know there is a need for better information systems. In 2007 the levels of ERP investment are expected to rise to a level that hasn't been seen since the late 1990s according to AMR Research. The study showed that within the next three years 43 percent of the companies studied planned to have at least one global ERP system while only 26 percent have one today. In addition, 55 percent of the companies studied were in the process of adding an ERP system to their business. |
