ERP Implementation
ERP implementation includes all the steps taken right from reengineering the business structure to taking the necessary steps for change management to testing the software and making it a part of the day to day affair. ERP implementation is divided into three main categories namely pre implementation, implementation and post implementation. In the first phase reengineering of the business structure, change management and software testing takes place. In the second phase the software is implemented after systematic planning and execution. In the final phase any mistakes that may occur is rectified carefully. ERP implementation is a very important issue. It had to be done meticulously. The reason is that it determines the success of the software program. ERP implementation can take place in two ways. The company can ask the software personnel from whom they purchased the software to install it for them. The second option could be to purchase the software and get it implemented with the help of in-house IT personnel. This happens when the company wants to customize the software. ERP implementation is a time consuming process which can take about several weeks, months and even years depending on the size of the organization and other constraints.
